Review

In 1988 PUNO DE HIERRO (Fist of Iron”) made their first appearance in the compilation Explosion Metalica” with two non-LP tracks. In the meantime the band was preparing its first and last metallic attack with the Ten fe en Dios” LP which was finally released two years later, in 1990. This LP is considered to be the only full – length album of the white metal genre in the scene of Mexico according to very reliable sources - Hello Mr. Rainer! Musically, it’s great power metal following the steps of their masters (JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN) with tracks real highlights like Espada de metal”, Epistola No.7” or Puno de hierro”. I can’t find a weak moment in the whole album, a very small minus might be the singer, whose voice could be a little bit stronger in order to fit perfectly with the instrumental part of the music. In my opinion Ten fe en Dios” is one of the finest moments of Mexican metal, but the sad thing is that is a quite rare LP and if it turns up its price is usually high. A bootleg CD version circulates these days, so those who can’t wait for the real thing may have a chance to hear this excellent band.
