Describe your way to Heavy Metal:

I started listening to heavy metal when I was 9, my cousin bought me Sabbath's "Master's of Reality" for my birthday, and have been a metal fanatic ever since.

How and when did you become a collector?

Been collecting metal mags for 20+ yrs, still have most of them(Kerrang,Blackthorn,Hit Parader(when they put out decent metal) Metal Maniacs, I have an extensive collection that has been growing ever since. I collect because to me, metal is the truest of musical genres, great musicianship and powerful emotional output.

What kind of stuff do you collect?

I collect rare demos, Live bootlegs, videos, especially live ones, T-shirts, have too many, my friends say (fuck em) ha.

Which styles do you collect?

I mainly love Power Metal, some death( the unintelligible death growlings has lost its novelty to me). I am a vocalist myself and its too easy to do, carry a sustained note, now thats talent, and am also partial to Black Metal, Doom, Ambient.. too many silly subgenre names.. I can still remember when anything remotely heavy with guitar distortion was metal, I only liked a handful of the hair bans Early Crue, Ratt, Dokken, Racer X,...

How big is your collection?

At last inventory, I counted 2200 vinyl, cassettes, cds and even a few 8-tracksAnd hundreds of traded tapes.

Where do you buy?

Used to get my music from the local stores, now enjoy the net for my purchases, hell its cheaper.
