Describe your way to Heavy Metal:

I guess it was mainly my older brother who got me into metal and hardrock. So, under his infuence, it was bands like Led Zeppelin, black Sabbath or Deep Purple from ca. 1977 - 1979, then in 1979 "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC was the first big milestone in my musical life. From 1980 on, I got heavily into NWOBHM & the likes (thanks to a great record shop in my area - the infamous BRO Records store in St. Gallen). VENOM's "Welcome to Hell", Motörhead's "No sleep til Hammersmith", the first two Iron Maiden records, Angel Witch etc. - that was the hottest shit! In 1983 it was Hellhammer that opened the gates widely to more extreme sound - when I saw them practice in their rehearsal bunker, there always was some Discharge or other HC Punk in the air. It was a fantastic time!

How and when did you become a collector?

I ever collected vinyl - even as a kid, I collected rock'n roll singles my mother gave me (like Little richard, Elvis etc.) - I loved them! My first real collector fetish was AC/DC - I used to have all the bootlegs and stuff complete. Unfortunately when I got into HC and Punk from ca. 1984 on, I decided to step by step sell me Metal record collection. It was only a few years ago that I started regathering my treasures, but as you can imagine, it's tough finding these goodies and mostly they're very expansive nowadays.

What kind of stuff do you collect?

Vinyl and occassionally tapes

Which styles do you collect?

Sure - Metal from 1979 - 1984 mainly, cause it was my time. Also some of the old HC and Punk records I need to complete my collection.

How big is your collection?

Ca. 1500 12"s and 3000 7"s, ca. 300 tapes. And about 300 CD's.

Where do you buy?

Mostly on ebay.

Your favourite records (by heart or value):

Couldn't name them really. There's so many. By value, some HC stuff I have is rarer than Metal records. Some of the metal rarities include VIXEN "Made in hawaii" on blue vinyl, BULLDOZER 7", original Hellhamer demos, original Metallica "no life til leather" Demo etc. etc.

Do you trade / buy / sell?

I don't really have trading material, so buying is easier.

Any famous last words?

"Mourn for us oppressed in fear, chained and shackled, we all fall, freedom choked in dread we live, since tyrant was enthroned" (by: guess who!)
