Describe your way to Heavy Metal:

First contact was when my two year older brother started to listen to Kiss in 1976. Bands like Nugent, AC/DC, and Ramones followed. When I was about ten years I first heard stuff like Priest, Maiden, The Rods and Motörhead and things started to get a little more serious...

How and when did you become a collector?

Ever since the first official tapes and records I bought in 82-83 IZve been hooked. There was always some older guy in the area with a huge collection (that would be 50 records or so...) and I wanted to have that myself. Why I collect? The excitement of hearing something that I never heard before, the nostalgia (seems to increase with age), the fact that I didnZt have the money to buy the stuff when I was a kid, the addictive mechanisms of the vinyl-drug, pure materialistic reasons (nothing to do with money or power just the good feeling to have the stuff available whenever you need it...)

What kind of stuff do you collect?

Mostly vinyl but also CDs, tapes, videos, DVDs, magazines and books on the subject.

Which styles do you collect?

Everything that falls within the stylistic borders of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath must be of interest. Other than that I like progressive stuff (Gentle Giant to Fates Warning), heavy stuff (Bang to Candlemass), rocking stuff (Buffalo (AUS) to Motörhead). IZm not particullary interested in the AOR and Glam/Sleaze/Poser side of metal - although there are exceptions even here. Lately IZve started to investigate the late seventies with bands like Starz, Angel and Teaze - which most likely means youZre getting one epic and eight honky-tonks on each record!

How big is your collection?

About 6000 records (most of it LPs, a couple of hundred singles and maxisingles, less than 2000 CDs, maybe fifty tapes), less than a hundred videos and DVDs. Maybe 500 magazines and up to a hundred books (biografies, encyclopedias, tourbooks)

Where do you buy?

Wherever I may find the stuff - in stores, by mail-order, flea markets and record fairs, locally, nationally, internationally or intergalactically...

Your favourite records (by heart or value):

Hard to choose! Heart says:
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast up to Powerslave
Black Sabbath - S/T up to Sabotage + Heaven & Hell
Judas Priest -Rocka Rolla up to Stained Class
Fates Warning - The Spectre Within to Perfect Symmetry
Manilla Road - Invasion to Spiral Castle dammit!!
Adramelch - Irae Melanox (not alone on this one I have come to understand)
Legend (Jersey) - S/T
Saracen - Heroes, Saint and Fools
Power Cuts (VHS containing tracks by Elixir (UK) and Sacrifice (SWI) as well as some really cheesy stuff)
Angel Witch - S/T
Metal North - Compilation CD 1993 (Because of Quicksand Dream being on it, and that means I was on it too, stretching my dear tonsils, cough!)

Do you trade / buy / sell?

Not too keen on selling. Trading might be of interest. Buying - Yesh!

Any famous last words?

IZd like to push for my good pal Henrik FlymanZs (of Moahni Moahna and Zool infamy) new outfit, called Evil Masquerade. Check out them on www.evilmasquerade.com. ...donZt know if theyZre any good I should add.
