Describe your way to Heavy Metal:

It all began 13 years ago. Believe it or not but my beginning on heavy music happened when I saw the just released Iron Maiden album "Fear of the Dark" on a store. I got hypnotized by the sleeve artwork and decided to buy (not really having any clue about the music on it). Therefore, yes, Be Quick or Be Dead was the very first metal song I heard, and it really rocked my world. From there it was a jump for me to have the whole collections of Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Sepultura, etc... than of course I began digging deeper to King Diamond, Manowar, and further to Candlemass, Stormwitch, etc, and nowadays I can say without shame that I am one of the biggest experts on heavy metal here in Brazil. I am also a big apreciator of brazilian metal of such acts as Taurus, Anthares, Overdose, etc... If you're seeking stuff from brazilian bands (or any band from anywhere) send me a message on novaerametal@gmail.com and I'll return to you with a catalogue of Cd's, Lp's, etc...

How and when did you become a collector?

Basically because I have a never-ending hunger for the unknown. I want to learn, I want to listen and I want to see everything I can - Therefore I do not collect only metal but everything I can lay my hands on.

What kind of stuff do you collect?

Everything. LP's, CD's, and DVD's, mostly

Which styles do you collect?

Well, as I said, I collect everything - but I am (as most people here) much bigger on 70's/80's rock and metal - From David Bowie to Piledriver and everything in between.

How big is your collection?

Very hard to say, because I'm also a dealer, so I have TONS of repeated items for sale in my house. I never counted, but I'd say I have at least 30,000 pieces including the CD's, DVD's and LP's.

Where do you buy?

Everywhere. Over the net, on local stores, with friends/traders, etc.

Your favourite records (by heart or value):

Why do we mortals have this incredible need to pick our favorites? Even though I consider myself a very progressive person I always used to make lists with my favorite bands, songs, musicians, etc on my books while the chemistry teacher would be blabing something about alloys and solvents back on my school days. I will have to look up for those lists later, but here are some of my favorits by heart:
Riot - Narita
Savatage - Dungeons are Calling
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Manowar - Into Glory Ride
Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Jag Panzer - Ample Destruction
Stormwitch - Beaty and the Beast
Def Leppard - On Throught the Night
Savage - Loose N' Lethal
Tokyo Blade - Tokyo Blade
Tygers of Pan Tang - Spellbound
Blind Guardian - Tales from the Twilight World
Accept - Restless and Wild
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
Running Wild - Branded and Exiled
Scanner - Hypertrace
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

AND SO MANY OTHERS... (well, basically most people's favorites I reckon) and on brazilian metal:
Taurus - Signo de Taurus
Angra - Angels Cry
Sepultura - Arise
Overdose - Seculo XX
Anthares - No Limite da Força
Azul Limão - Vingança etc...

Do you trade / buy / sell?

Sure, I am interested on trading, selling, buying or simply talking about music and movies. Drop me a line on novaerametal@gmail.com I have a page www.novaerametal.cjb.net but its STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Any famous last words?

I'd say "Rock On" but it would be too clichè. So I will say "Keep searching, and buying, and listening, until the journey's end". Oh, and ROCK ON!!!!
