Describe your way to Heavy Metal:

It all started out in the summer of 1979, and I’m almost afraid to admid it was all thanks to KISS and their I Was Made For Loving You disco-hit. Although it’s only fair to say that I moved on to a heavier direction ever since.

How and when did you become a collector?

I started collecting just after I started listening to the music. Why do people collect things? It’s just a logical evolution ... a vicious circle : if you want to listen to music you need to have it, and as soon as you have purchased a couple items, you’ve started a small collection...

What kind of stuff do you collect?

Literally everything : vinyl, CD’s, demos, magazines, fanzines, memorabilia ... Whatever you can think of, as long as it’s related to the bands and genres I like.

Which styles do you collect?

Genres I enjoy include Doom, Speed & Thrash Metal. And some Progressive stuff as well. The ones I enjoy most however are 80’s U.S. Power metal and The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Genres I despise include Glam, Grunge, Black & Death Metal, commercial A.O.R.,...

How big is your collection?

I haven’t really kept track of things but at least 2500 CD’s, even more vinyl (including a couple hundred 7”’s), thousands of tapes, hundreds of zines,...

Where do you buy?

Mailorder companies, record stores, record fairs, trades, ... everywhere
